I just got back from the 20th unveiling of the Maganda magazine, and I am inspired. I showcased my first canvas work and I got pretty good feedback. I'll look into it. Then again, I feel that way everytime I go to events like this, but something about this particular one makes me feel like it is possible. Then, then again, maybe it's the situation; I just needed it. Maybe it was because the best spoken word artist I know (and a personal inspiration) convinced me to do a piece at probably the biggest and most relevant stage that I've ever recited at. I really wanted to hear him speak so he told me that if I recited, he would too. Worth it. He had new material about the Vietnam War and such. We caught up during intermission and this guy is doing the business man.
"I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, MAN."
He just got back from the Berkeley Collegiate Slam Finals in Michigan and Cal got 4th. I immediately regret not competing because the team they sent there was STACKED.
He's competing on the Berkeley Slams for the right to go to Nationals.
-Youth Speaks Finals.
-Something else that involves poetry and traveling very far.
-Honored to be able to design for this guy.
Time to hustle.
